The Real Win
I’m completely drained today… 😅 What was supposed to be a recovery ride turned into a climb up Old La Honda, and the ride home felt like endless rollers.
The good news: I PR’ed my climb to the top! 🙌
(PR = Personal Record in the Strava cycling world — beating your own previous time.)
Why do we get such a kick out of a PR? I heard a line recently: “Winning is about beating yourself each time.” I agree that personal progress matters more than beating others… but it made me wonder.
Why is winning so important?
Why do we need it at all?
Isn’t doing our best enough?
Maybe the real win isn’t the time or the crown — it’s choosing to keep going when quitting would be easier.
Or maybe some days, just showing up should count.
Still thinking this one through. 🚴♀️
