Human vs AI
Friday afternoon, I ran headfirst into a metal desk leg at work. The desk won the “which is tougher” contest. 😅
After three coworkers cleaned me up and my sister insisted I get checked out, I ended up at urgent care. When I jokingly said I shouldn't have mentioned it happened at work, I was actually turned away from the first hospital I went as the admin frowned at me and told me that would be considered “insurance fraud”.
And somehow, my first thought was:
"Oh no, am I hurting our safety numbers?"
And Not:
"Do I need stitches?"
Funny how that works.
We tell ourselves health and family come first. Yet many of us are wired with such a strong sense of duty that we worry about work even while bleeding.
AI wouldn't have this “humanly” emotion. It would optimize for the objective: get treatment.
No guilt. No loyalty. No baggage. Just logic.
Humans carry all the other stuff. For better or worse.
So which is actually the bug, and which is the feature?
